Call for UbiSec 2022 Workshop Proposals

UbiSec 2022 calls for workshop proposals which will complement the research topics of Cyberspace Security, Cyberspace Privacy, and Cyberspace Anonymity.

A workshop refers to an academic event in conjunction with UbiSec 2022, which can be a half-day or full-day symposium or workshop, or only a special session for two hours of discussion on a hot research topic. Each workshop will be expected to accept at least 6 papers.

The UbiSec 2022 Workshops provide vibrant opportunities for academic researchers and industry practitioners to share their research experiences, original research achievements and practical development products on specific new challenges and emerging issues. The themes of the UbiSec 2022 Workshops should be related to the scopes of the UbiSec 2022 main conference, reflecting to advances in all aspects of Cyberspace Security, Cyberspace Privacy, and Cyberspace Anonymity.

The organizers of the UbiSec 2022 Workshops shall have responsibility of soliciting call for papers, forming program committee on reviewing and selection of papers as well as planning workshop program. The registration fees for workshops will be determined by and paid to the main conference other than the workshops. The main conference will provide workshop facilities including the working notes printing, meeting rooms, coffee breaks, lunches, dinners, proceedings, online conferencing, etc.

The proceedings of the UbiSec 2022 Workshops will be published by Springer’s Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS), to be indexed by EI Compendex.

Prospective Workshop Organizers should send a proposal containing the following information to UbiSec 2022 Workshop Chairs via email:

Title of the workshop (Full name and Abbreviation)

Approved workshops should strictly follow the Important Dates of the main conference, particularly the Author Notification Date and the Camera-ready Paper Due Date. The submission deadline could be later than that of the main conference. But, a workshop should have sufficient time, say 5-7 weeks, for generating peer reviews. Generally, each paper should receive at least 3 peer reviews.

In order to encourage the workshop organisors, the main conference will provide the following benefits to the workshop organisors: (1) If a workshop will have at least 10 full registrations for accepted papers (excluding those borderline papers transferred from the main conference), then one of the main organisors can choose either to waive one of his or her papers for registrations or to get the travel grant to attend the conference. (2) If a workshop will have at least 20 full registrations for accepted papers (excluding those borderline papers transferred from the main conference), then the main organisors can invite one keynote speaker for the workshop and the conference will provide free registration and travel grant for the keynote speaker.

Please email your workshop proposals in PDF format by August 15, 2022 to: the UbiSec 2022 Workshop Chairs, Sabu M. Thampi (sabu.thampi@duk.ac.in, sabu.thampi@iiitmk.ac.in, smthampi@ieee.org), Arcangelo Castiglione (arcastiglione@unisa.it), and Shuhong Chen (sh_csu@163.com).

Please use "UbiSec 2022 workshop proposal" as the email subject. Paper Submissions for accepted workshops should follow the same Paper Submission Guidelines for the main conference. Papers must be clearly presented in English, must not exceed 14 pages in Springer CCIS format (or up to 20 pages with the pages over length charge), including tables, figures, references and appendices. Notice that accepted papers less than 12 pages will be tagged as Short Papers.

Look forward to your stimulating proposals and contributions to UbiSec 2022 Workshops!
